The land Tweet Kimball amassed has kept wildlife corridors open and helped conserve a rich and diverse ecosystem. Today as you marvel at this land, you can bet elk, mule deer, foxes, great horned owls, wild turkeys, and many other species are thriving there.

Your children and grandchildren will count bluebirds in the protected open space and fish in the private fishing pond or walk on private trails through pine forests. As open space in Douglas county disappears, exclusive access to this protected land is becoming more and more precious every day.

Trout Pond

Although The Keep provides the closest proximity to the South Platte River’s world class Gold Medal fly-fishing waters of any community of its caliber, residents will also enjoy a private, stocked trout pond on site, with manicured banks and monitored water quality; accessible to residents via the trail system.

The Gathering Place

Taking advantage of the magnificent surroundings, Koelbel and Company is creating a waterside open-air pavilion, complete with covered picnic tables, catering kitchen, play areas and restrooms, as a "gathering place" for The Keep’s residents, their children and grandchildren, and guests. The grand architecture and the native stone have been chosen to resonate with those of Tweet Kimball's Cherokee Castle, visible to the north.

Regional Parks, Trails and Open Space

As a supplement The Keep’s own dedicated open space and trails, Douglas County offers 40,000 acres of open space, much of it opening to the endless expanse of Pike National Forest. Guests visiting your home in The Keep should be sure to tour Cherokee Ranch and Castle, ten minutes north, modeled on a Scottish castle, surrounded by 4,000 acres of scenic open space. The Keep enjoys the very best proximity to the famous Gold Medal trout waters of the South Platte River of any luxury community in the Denver area.
